APPEALS Project Kano State Co-ordinating Office in collaboration with NSPRI Kano zonal office facilitated a Demonstration entitled Interactive/Practical Demonstration on Improved Processing and Packaging Technologies for Wet Tomato Products and shelf-life extension of Tomato Fruits. The demonstration intended to address the gaps and challenges that are being faced by stakeholders in tomato production and processing, including the need to build food security in tomato. The document "How cluster farming addressed post-harvest losses and improved rice farmers’ income in Bugau, Kura Local Government Area, Kano State" is a "Lesson Learnt" during the implementation of the APPEALS Project in Kano State. AS a result of the project intervention, farmers at Bugau Rice production cluster begun to have improvement in yield due to reduction in post-harvest loses.
