Summary:

A stakeholder sensitization workshop was organized by APPEALS project, Kano State Coordination Office on the 12th day of March, 2019 at Nassarawa Guest House, Kano to discuss post-harvest losses issues that are bedeviling producers especially in tomatoes  so as to proffer solutions and recommendation to the Appeals project to impact positively towards solving the identified problems for improved income amongst medium and smallholder farmers as well as for the development of Agriculture in the State.

Seventy Five (75) participants from various stakeholder organizations (Ministry of Agriculture, KNARDA, the Academia, Processors, fabricators, Export Promotion Council, farmers, Sasakawa Africa Association and the Media attended the workshop The workshop themeTowards Enhancing the volume and quality of processed output for Wheat, Rice and Tomato in Kano State” was intended to bring out the possible headways of reducing post- harvest losses in output for cottage processing for a sustainable production for export of wheat, rice and tomato in Kano State.
