The Central Knowledge Repository of the Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project named the “APPEALS Project Nigeria Central Knowledge Repository” is hosted on a cloud-based platform, and housed within the existing Project website: www.appealsproject.com.ng.
The Knowledge Repository is a fully functional Content Management System that enables real time content population and facilitates a results-oriented Knowledge Management with relevant integrated knowledge exchange and learning tools. It is expected to contribute to facilitating the effective implementation of the APPEALS Project, as well as advancing government strategies; and support to FMARD in improving quality control of inputs and information to farmers on input markets and agro- dealers.
The Central Knowledge Repository is to serve as the hub of all the knowledge assets generated by all the Project Implementation Units (PIUs) through a systematic knowledge management and learning exchange that helps to capture, report and share lessons on what works and what does not work during and after the project’s implementation. It is built with functional features including public and secure interfaces, security, interactivity, storage, robust search engine, monitoring capability, multimedia compatibility & downloads feature, accessibility across all devices and capacity to accommodate content formats including texts, audio visual, and learning modules etc.
The CKR is populated with knowledge contents contributed by all the six participating states of the project and the National Coordination Office. The content is categorised according to value chains, participating states/PIU, file formats and document types etc., and include success stories, knowledge-sharing products, best practices, samples of Business Investment Plans, Value Chain Investment Plans, Information Education and Communication materials, Innovations/Technology demonstrations, manuals, regulatory documents, reports, studies, publications, and strategy documents etc. The categorization is expandable through regular updates to accommodate new realities.
