Final Report on Herder-Farmer Conflicts Resolution Survey
Violent conflicts involving pastoralists and farmers have escalated in parts of West Africa and the Sahel areas in recent years, claiming thousands of lives across the region. Essentially, these conflicts are primarily driven by a competition for land, water, and forage, but there are also political and socioeconomic factors involved. The main issue is about how these natural resources are managed and allocated. Farmers and pastoralists are both victims and actors in these conflicts, just as well as other diverse interest groups.
