Enugu ESMP Final Report For The Proposed Agro Processing And Aggregation Development Centres

Agriculture in Nigeria has been another great attention at adding value to farm produce in order to ensure food sustainability and livelihood improvement of small holders’ peasants. The government of Enugu State has keyed into the opportunity offered by the Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project in the State. The APPEALS intervention is one of the various steps taken at improving agriculture in Nigeria to encourage development projects that will enhance farm produce across the country.

Towards Understanding Gender Based Violence

Types of gender-based violence include female infanticide; child sexual abuse; sex trafficking and forced labor; sexual coercion and abuse; neglect; domestic violence; elder abuse; and harmful traditional practices such as early and forced marriage, “honor” killings, and female genital mutilation/cutting. All forms of GBV are costly and negatively impact economic growth and poverty reduction efforts (WHO 2004). VAW and IPV have been the subject of extensive efforts to measure costs to individuals, households, and nations. Such studies have shown that the costs of IPV place an enormous burden on individuals and families, with ripple effects throughout society.
