Lagos APPEALS Newsletter 2nd Edition

It is another informative and exciting edition of Lagos APPEALS NEWSLETTER, a bi-annual magazine of the Lagos Agro-processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support Project, detailing the activities and events of the State Coordination Office for the period under review. The project has continued in its stride to achieve the Project Development Objective of enhancing farmers' productivity by undertaking activities to promote socio-economic growth and livelihood support of beneficiaries especially since we are all now learning to live and survive the 'new normal' life since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lagos APPEALS Newsletter Maiden Edition

The maiden edition of Lagos APPEALS Newsletter is a bi-annual magazine of the Lagos State Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) project. VCIP on Rice Processing

This is written by the Entrepreneur to meet its obligations in the quantity and quality of milled rice, the project is proposing to improve the processing capacity of the Entrepreneur from 1.5tons per day to 4tons per day. A total of 160tons of paddy rice will be produced by each CIG in the alliance, giving a total of 800tons of rice produced for the alliance considering that rice is produced for two cycles in a year, 800tons paddy rice will give 520tons milled rice.

This Value Chain Investment Plan is developed to further scale up the processor and improve on the processing capability of the beneficiary. This will enable the processor to increase the volume of milled rice and increase/expand the areas of distribution, thereby getting more products to the high-end market due to improved quality of the product.

The project objective is to strengthen and increase the quantity of smoked fish by COS AQUACULTURE SUPPORT SERVICES by 75%, and also strengthen fish processing system with a view to ensuring that fish investment attain an exportable status within the project life.
