Aquaculture production in Nigeria has its potential production estimated at 2.5 - 4.0 million metric tons per annum (Ayinla, 2012) and catfish accounts for about 90% of the aquaculture production while tilapia and others account for 10%. VCIP on Aquaculture Production

This VCIP is developed to solve the challenges faced by members of this cluster, by introduction of probiotic fish feed as against the conventional feed. Probiotic feed has been found to play a beneficial role in the ecosystem of the fish gastrointestinal tract, by enhancing growth performance and other rearing parameters such as feed conversion ratio, digestibility and body composition . Fish fed on probiotic feed attain table size faster while percentage mortality is drastically reduced.
