Use Of Rice Husk As A Bonding Agent In Clay Bricks Making
In Kogi state, rice farmers commonly use rice husks in its raw state as a substitute for fuel, or combine it with other staples to produce poultry feed or spread the ashes of rice husk on their farms so that it decomposes and becomes inorganic fertilizer. This document however, focuses on the use of rice husk in its raw state mixed with clay to produce bricks. This is a solution to the provision of affordable housing as well as a method of waste management and means of income generation for rice farmers.
