Yes. Non-indigenes of participating states can benefit from the project provided they are resident in the states and meet the eligibility criteria.
No. The project is free and open to eligible candidates in the participating states. No application or participation fees are charged.
The APPEALS Project is being implemented for a period of six years.
There are six participating states:
- Cross River
- Enugu
- Kaduna
- Kano
- Kogi
- Lagos
No. The Project is not giving money to beneficiaries but providing technical support in terms of training for skill acquisition and empowerment along the priority Value Chains for the purpose of supporting farmers’ productivity, value addition and linkage to markets.
APPEALS” is an acronym for Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support.
The Project Development Objective (PDO) of APPEALS is to enhance the agricultural productivity of small and medium scale farmers and improve value addition along priority value chains in the participating states.
The APPEALS project supports three (3) priority value chains per state as follow:
- Cross River – Rice, Cocoa, Poultry
- Enugu – Rice, Cashew, Poultry
- Kaduna – Maize, Ginger, Dairy
- Kano – Rice, Wheat, Tomato
- Kogi – Cassava, Cashew, Rice
- Lagos – Rice, Aquaculture, Poultry
The Project is supporting a total of eleven priority value chains: Cassava, Rice, Wheat, Cocoa, Ginger, Poultry, Aquaculture, Dairy, Maize, Cashew and Tomato.
